Leadership Development
Conflict Resolution
Description:You avoid it or ignore it. You try to smooth it over without really addressing the issue. You also try the “win-lose confrontation” approach where power is used at the expense of the other person’s feelings. Yet, you are still unable to resolve conflict. As part of any dynamic business organization, conflict arises because people care and want to do their job well. Conflict is beneficial when the focus is on finding the best solution. It becomes destructive when the focus is on people and “winning”.
This course will introduce you to elements that exist during conflict, help you identify the cues that trigger emotional reactions so you can better manage them, and build on communication strategies that will allow you to more effectively work through conflict resulting in stronger working relationships and encouraging creative solutions.
Delegation
Description: Delegation is a skill most leaders have heard of, but few have successfully embraced. Delegation is not a method for “passing off” tasks that are simple, tedious, or easy. Instead, delegation is a tool that can provide motivation and allow you to use the full potential of your associates. As a result the leader, associate, and organization will benefit. This course will discuss the importance of delegation and provide with you with a process to answer the question — “How do I delegate?”
Successful Meetings: Making Meetings Count
Description: Meetings are inevitable in the workplace. People usually dread the thought of attending yet another meeting. Most meetings drag on, and often, not much gets accomplished. The trick, then, is to plan and lead a successful meeting so that people don't grumble, and you achieve your meeting objectives.
